OOh good, I put my first earlies in today as wont have much opportunity next few weeks. All other allotmenteers I spoke to were shaking their heads and muttering about frosts. I checked and I have put them in at this time last few years but it does feel a bit colder this year. Hey ho - we will see!

I planted 5 in containers and put some in the shed by the window, but then I ran out of room so the rest have gone by the house wall where it's a lot warmer.

Frosts are not a bother as long as you keep the foliage covered.

This time last year the daffs hadn't even opened up, but mine are well into full bloom now.

The bees are storing pollen already, and that's unusual in early spring.
