Title: Glen Moy raspberries
Post by: elhuerto on March 18, 2011, 19:01:30
In January I planted 5 Glen Moy bare root raspberry canes and there's still no sign of life in them. At the same time I planed 5 Autumn Bliss which are all fine and showing lots of leaves and buds. Does anyone know if they do appear later than the autumn varieties or have I been sold duds - it may be my lack of patience also  ::)

Cheers!

When did you plant them? I put in a row of autumn raspberries last month, and only a couple are showing any growth yet. Plants I had heeled in, and hadn't cut back were beginning to sprout last week, but cutting them obviously sets them back.

They were put in mid-January, the Autumn Bliss have all taken and showing several leaves. The Glen Moy look lifeless, was hoping maybe it's a trait of these in particular that they show later.

Thanks Vicki, maybe they're just late starters, let's hope so!

Give them time; the soil's still cold.
