Do you put bedding plants in after? Maybe you have them deep enough! I don't think I plant deep enough and am forever re-planting! :-[

If you look close enough you will see that these clumps are roughly 12" apart.
This means when I cut them back I can place the bedding plants in the gaps and you don't see the join ;)
