I have started using used tea bags to cover the drainage holes on my plant pots. I thought it would retain moisture. Has anyone else tried this or can think of reasons not to?
Don,t know about blocking drainage holes you water from the bottom so you need to keep them clear. I use tea bags ripped open on the compost or I put them to soak and use to water the flowers. Try water retainig cristal in each pot but I don,t think you need to ;D ;D ;D
someone on here suggested them for blocking up the bottom of toilet roll inners to stop the compost falling out :)
I use 2 or 3 thicknesses of newspaper inside pots. The water drains out without the compost.
I don't block up the bottom of toilet rolls or newspaper rolls because the compost doesn't fall out - they are squeezed into various plastic containers and left there until roots fill the rolls and hold the compost in.
