It's only 3 weeks for this event in Stoneleigh Park...who's going..
ME!!
How much is it to get in?
£11 per person if bought advance and £13 at the gate..parking is free
DebP was thinking of this.. and I'd be willing to go along to... :)
;D Sounds like arrangement here..OH was told to book day off...willingly he is going to so.. ;D
It's cheaper for OAPs. Strange isn't it Wednesday was referred to as old g**s day until a couple of years ago, wonder why ;D ;D ;D.
We could have an A4A gathering.
;D Should we all wear red carnation on chest or something ..stick row of beans on forehead ;D
I was all geared up to go last year.
Daily Mirror readers can get two tickets for the price of one. If you go to their website you can find the promotion code.
I quite fancy it.

If someone else from Swindon is going I'd be happy to cover a share of the petrol or something similarly amenable....

I can't find a current promotion code. The 1 on the website says it's valid until 30 Nov 2010. Just had a look and the code still works, thanks Digeroo
Welcome to A4A Annielou :)
Would love to go to this, but think maybe its a bit far, nearly 3 hour drive :(
Been reconsidering today whether to go ;D Has this been staged before, and if so to anyone thats been is it a really good day and is there enough things happening to keep you busy for most of the day?
not going :(
very annoyed after last year .. had bought tickets which yes were refunded after it was cancelled but never did get service charge back so ended up out of pocket not being fooled twice!!
My son as got me a ticket to go to this show ...hope it is good
Just had a look & the lovely James Wong is giving a talk on the Friday, another good reason to go ;D ;D ;D.
Ahh..that's why you wanted to go Friday ;).."lovely James Wong" ;D ::)
..my tickets arrived yesterday... ;D ;D...and I've been doing my excercises so I've got all the strenght and stamina for our shopping session there.. ;)
I'm looking forward to buy a sack of Rockdust ;D ;D
And where will you use your rockdust, just wondering as I have some.
I bought some before..some years ago though..I used it by sprinkling into compost bins between layers and and just generally straight on soil...particularly on my strawberry bed ;)
I had a little 'accident' with one of my sacks..and where I had the spillage I've got this one apple tree now...and that tree fruits too well every year..for small tree I have to thin and thin and thin and now even take branches off..I cannot keep the bleeder upright soon. Last couple of years I've had to provide support for all the branches so they don't snap ::)
Anyway..I want to keep the rockdust treatment to my other lottie now ;)
I'm going as it's only Twenty minutes away and it would be a shame not too!
Who's going tomorrow (friday)? How about meeting outside the potting shed at 1 o'clock. ;D ;D
At least you no what I look like. Just add 11 yrs and a lot more grey hair ;D ;D
I'm giving Saddad a lift there, so we are going barring disasters! ;D
I'm looking forward to it... :)
I won't be able to go but I'll see you at SALGA tonight :D
chrisc
I'll be in the show tomorrow.. ;D ;D YEEAHH.. ;D I'll keep my eye on the potting shed ???..and time and try to make big noise so some you might dare and come say hello ;D
Should I make sign or something :-\..or flower on button hole..or mickey mouse ears..or just lie down with all shopping bags (nudge me awake) ??? ;D
I shall wear my ARI sweatshirt/fleece.... :)
Just look put for the short red hair and red lipstick.... :-* oh, and I'll be standing next to the bloke with the ARI fleece on ! ;D
Off to work now. See you all later. ;D ;D
Which one of you has the lipstick on Deb. :P
I never knew you cared enough to notice Kev... ;D
Well, we got there before 11am, lots of people there, one medium sized hall with stalls quite crammed in, plus a few farm animals in a side hall (Bob Flowerdew and Anne Swithinbank were hobnobbing in there!)....and we were out by 1pm! Sorry we couldn't stay to meet up, but we had 'done' all the stalls, had a coffee, and Saddad had a long drive to do asap, so we called it a day earlier than planned. Back home by 2pm! I don't think I would go again, not very good value for £13 per adult, a lot more to see and do at GWL for example.
Main purchase for me was some Rock Dust, I decided to give it a trial on half of my plot on the raised beds side this year to see if it makes any difference.....the bloke carried it to my car as well, so can't complain! I am proud to say I resisted the' heritage tomatoes' stall...£3 a packet put me off!
Well..We did it too..and didn't manage to do all..too much to see and being honest..I met looovely Grannyjanet and it all turned to girly talk, and some shopping of course::) ;D
Rockdust!!...one of the main things I went there for ::)..forgot all about it ::)
Heritage Tomato stall got some change out of me.. :-X..yes, yet more tomatoes..but those are for 2012 list ;D
Saw Pippa Greenwood and James Wong.
Had yummy rare breed sausage cob and lovely cool, thirst quenching cider :P
I did enjoy the day and will go again.
Deb..how much did they charge for the rockdust?..I think I paid some years ago around £25 for big sack with delivery..
Oh..must not forget to mention lovely Grannyjanet's OH.. ;).. :-* ;) ;D
I had a lovely time too. It was so nice to meet one of my cyber friends & her OH. Chatted to James Wong which was rather exciting, says she blushing again :-[. Bought seeds & swapped 'things' out of car boots with Goodlife. I would like to go again but we had a long time in the car, about 41/2 hours in total, then again it is Friday.
The rock dust was 2x 20kg bags for £16... (instead of £10 each)... and no carriage..
:)

£16 for two bags, each bag 20kg I think covering 40sqm at the 'minimum' application rate. I'm going to do an experiment by only doing some beds of the same crops and see if I notice any difference.... ;D
Ahhhhh, he beat me to it, got back from York OK then?!
OH NOOO...and I missed that ::)..that is good price..I suppose that product is slowly being available bit more widely...when it first came about I had to buy it from Scotland :-X
Hmm..I wonder if I could talk OH for another trip to coventry ;D
Yep, back by 7:45 pm... :)
We got there by 10.30, saw the celebs wandering around. Had a natter with the couple on Jimmys Farm but didnt think much to it really. Wanted to see the topic on pig rearing in the morning but they changed the time >:( so we missed that!
Though it was a bit dear for what was there, bring back the Royal Show :)
