I sowed some calebrese last week and they have all germinated well but there has been no sunshine and the seedlings are very tall but otherwise very bonny. I am concerned that once they get another leaf they will be top heavy and topple over.
Do you think I should repot them and earth them up the stem a bit?
Thats sounds like a good idea. They sound as though they are "leggy"..because they have been searching for light
Brassicas are very forgiving about being buried... :)
I agree and when you prick them out try not to hold them by the stem as this could be fragile
I will not have to prick them out since they were expensive F1s so there was only one seedl in each yogurt pot. I normally leave them in until it is time to throw them outside. It was just that this time it was so dull when they came up that they got rather leggy. I think I might try a few more just in case they are a write off.
If any sown this way fail to show I simply reuse the pot,
