Title: Arran Pilot
Post by: caroline7758 on February 13, 2011, 11:48:10
Went to Wilko's to buy Charlotte potatoes and they didn't have any. :( Couldn't be bothered driving round elsewhere as I only want to grow a few spuds this year, so got Arran Pilot instead. are they best just used as earlies or will they store?

My husband always grew these just as earlies - they never got time to store anyway!!!!

yes they are earlies and I am growing them this year for the first time I think, can't remember, and if we like them will be storing a few for next year

I've grown 'em for the last few years. I don't mind if they get a bit big, they still get used.

On the other hand I always grow Charlotte as well - B&Q usually stock them.

Grown them for the last 2 years, they are earlies and cook well holding together when boiling. They also keep OK

A good early - and a waxy one as well. Not sure whether they store well as they tend to be eaten up quickly :D
