Someone has asked me what the plant with the this leaves is. I think it might be agapanthus, but not sure. Friend reckons her child may have eaten a bit of leaf and is a bit poorly.

Thanks for that. Yes the pic is pretty poor, but she posted it on facebook and I copied it from there. Just heard the leaves are sharp and hard if that helps. I don't think the kid is really ill, and I suspect the plant has nothing to do with it, but I did say I'd try. Thanks again.
ATM agapanthus are not "hard" and never sharp... :-\
It looks to me like a Puya, which I believe is a bromeliad, I can't find any reference to its being poisonous, and if this is the plant then I don't think a child would eat much - it's very prickly....
Looks to me like a Sisyrinchium. Not sure if poisonous or not. If in doubt ALWAYS take child to A&E either with the plant label or a plant leaf.
