I looking for advice on what to do with my newly inherited raspberry canes. Some I recognised as autumn bliss by some of the leaves that were left on them and have just cut the old stems down . What's your advice concerning the others that were bare and the stems look slightly different? If I cut them I wont get any fruit and what will happen if I leave the old stems on Autumn bliss? Thankyou.
Old stems on Autumn bliss will flower but the fruit will be smaller and not worth the effort... It's not likely that someone would plant Autumn and Summer rasps together... too easy to get mixed up! I'd cut them all down... any that don't fruit this year are clearly Summer ones and you will be wiser next time.. ;D
