I will be planting my 10 new raspberry canes in a bed 20x5ft. (a single row. Is this too much room or should I plant 2 rows in that space. Would there be room for anything else in this bed or will they fill out to fill it?
I also have 6 currant bushes, 2 red, 2 black, 2 white. Will they go in a similar sized bed (20x6ft) or would i be best planting 4 currant bushes in this bed. Would there be room for anything else in this bed or will they fill out to fill it too?
summer or autumn raspberries?
all of the currant bushes need about 4 ft in all directions.
You can under plant a few short season salads, like lettuce and radish in both... the raspberries will invade the space anyway! ;D

The full row of 10 is to be a perpetual raspberry fruiting from Jul-Nov apparently; its called POLKA, a spine free variety
I have 5 early summer fruiting canes, spine free, to plant elsewhere that should fruit Jun-Jul. Cant remember the name as they are at the plot in containers at present.

plant the 'perpetual' ones down the middle of the 5ft bed, you can plant strawberries either side
