Post by: Debs on January 30, 2011, 20:15:56
. . .  have seen the bags in garden centres but they vary in price.

Does anyone know where i can find some which are decent quality & reasonably priced??

I think last year folks some folks used the collapsable garden bags from poundland.
Have you any old compost bags?

You can use chippy potato bags... they will give them you for free. Turn them inside out to reduce the chance of any infections/blight getting to your crop. I used to use hessian sacks from Marshalls but the mice liked them too much and used to chew them for bedding... as well as the potatoes!

I've used folded in half 70lt compost bags, 2 tubers in each. You can adjust the depth to suit as they grow. They seem strong enough and can be moved if need be, I've reused mine for a couple of seasons now.
