All those who live in West Sussex may be interested to know that the council are offering free "food waste digesters" which usually retail at £66.90. Local garden centres are participating in the scheme. You phone this number 0800 052 0462 and they send you a voucher. Take the voucher to a participating garden centre with proof of address (utility bill) and you can collect the food digester which includes a kitchen waste caddy and accelerator powder etc.
They are also offering home composters at a reduced price, a 220 litre for £10 and a 300 litre for £15. Phone 0800 085 80 88 and again a voucher will be sent to you.
Both these can be delivered for a small charge.
If you live outside West Sussex why not contact your local council to see if they are running a similar scheme and if not see if they can.
Hi Jess. What's a "food waste digester"? I'm imagining a wormery. Potentially a good deal, if so.
Here is a link, I see it's with Worcestershire Council so perhaps this offer is nationwide?
