They are painted on glass and then baked - hopefully Shirl will come along and explain more about it.
Shirl is going to have a stall at our Plant Sale in May and sell them there.
I think they are brilliant - isn't she clever!
They look terrific!
They look great... I'm not a cat fan but ... :)
Cat ones are very cute!
Well done Shirl ;D
I love the pumpkin one, now if she brings it to the NSALG day, happy to buy it , plenty time to make another before May!!
Ok I'm a cheeky so and so! :-[
I thought it was going to be a cat scarecrow! But they are great!
Fantastic - so clever
Shirl is a very clever girl. They are really lovely. I bet her children were kept well entertained when they were little ;).
They are really brilliant, love the oriental ones :)
Isn't she just! I'm sure they will sell quickly!
Don't forget to let us know dates and save one for me.
They are gorgeous, well done Shirl.
Glad that you like them . It has given me something to do during the bad weather and at the same time hopefully it will bring in some funds for the moggies.
Just love them. I am sure they will raise plenty of funds.
They're beautiful, Shirl! I wish I lived near enough to come and buy one - (or two or three.....)! :)
Could you tell us how you do it please? What sort of paint do you use?
The paint is pebeo 160 (with a hyphen over the e's) Outliner and everything I use has to be 160.This is the temperature that the finished painting is cooked at 160c.
The cooking makes the finished article dishwasher proof. The stuff I do is probably not going to end up in a dishwasher but it is does make them more durable than if I used a solvent based paint. Added to that I couldn't stand the fumes.
When they are cooked I fix the lead around the glass.
How do you "cook" them Shirl?
In the oven with the kitchen door shut and the window open. It is ceramic paint so for the first 5 mins it does smell but after that it ok. It doesn't leave any smell in the oven after.
Oh thanks, that makes sense now!
And it does sound like a nice project for rainy winter days.!
Hope you raise lots of money for the cats :)
Wow they look great - good luck with the sale.
They are fantastic, Shirl ;D Good luck with the fundraising - if I wasn't so far away I'd certainly buy one (or more)!
Well done Shirl. You are very talented.
They look really good Shirl. Maybe you should sell them online too so that those live too far away could also buy some.
Duke :)
You sure you did them Shirl, they look like our Tone had a hand in them. :-X ;D ;D ;D ;)
What are they?
Shirl is going to bring some to the A4A meetup Training Day on Feb 5th.
Lovely, got purse in pocket ready! :D

CORE,
ACE i remember having one of those as a kid. Parents thought I would make an excellent Davy Crockett ;D ;D ;D
IF my cat pees on the spare duvet again, he will be turned into a Davy crokett hat!!!!!!
