The little girl was being sent to Boarding school and coming home for the holidays.

The long lost sister was back in the family fold and they all stood and watched as the servants lit the Christmas tree.........lovely.

I would not want to be a servant though   ;D

I enjoyed it too - what a pity they could only afford 3 episodes. Still, we have been promised further episodes of Downton Abbey in 2011 - something to look forward to!

I enjoyed the old series and enjoyed these also.
I was amazed at how old Jean Marsh looked. Made me feel ancient. I too hope that they make a series.
Downton Abbey is back soon yippeeee

Think I heard they were waiting to see how it was received before making a series. Did you notice how they all smoked? I just love all these period dramas.

the last time i saw Anne Read she was sucking all the blood out of Roy Marsden with a straw. Kind of spoiled it for me  :D

I enjoyed it to, and i love the art malik character,  but it was weird that they didnt use the swastica but rather replaced it with a made up sign?
why do that? or is it a genuine thing?

I enjoyed it too, watched all three episodes.  Also enjoyed Beatrice Potter, the scenery and the fact that she saved farms from being developed for housing.
