Title: Daffs trying hard
Post by: Jayb on December 23, 2010, 22:07:32
The last 3 or 4 years I've been lucky enough to have a few garden daffs start flowering in December. A joy for me to see their nodding yellow heads and thankfully it seems to make the winter months a little shorter.

But with this year's weather I was really surprised to take this photo a few days ago. A little blurry I know but I was only in my pj's and it was sooooo cold!

I don't think they will make their December debut, but maybe January?

Anyone else got some out of season bloomers?

Could you force them into it with a cloche of some sort ;D.

You have got to admire them for their spirit! :D

Lol no I don't think I'll do a cloche, but they are in fairly good spot, a thick hedge behind them and they face south.
Definite spirit, I thought last year would change their minds at being early!

That was just the job. Cheered me up. Spring is definitely gonna come despite the view outside my window ;D

Thanks for the reminder that it's all waiting just around the corner-and soon we'll be chitting!
