Title: Seasonal beard sticking problem
Post by: goodlife on December 17, 2010, 13:26:01
I was wondering if any of you know about false beards ;D..I bought new Santa's beard kit to go with the suit and had proper upgrade for the facial hair. No more tacky wadding beard with elastic. This year I'm going to look real deal ;D
But...I've never used glue on type...so my glue is spirit gum type glue..I would be useful to know before I go and stick it on my face..do I need remover for the glue too. I would not like look like my 'hormones suddenly gone over-ride' ::) ;D
Mind though..it would take attention off from bad hair day ::) ;D

Super glue would be the best stuff, make sure you position it first time otherwise it will look like a merkin.

Trust me, I'm not joking. I mean would I kid you!

:o..super glue...trust you ::) I would be still wearing it next summer and white beard would not go with my bikinis ::)..and I'm sure I would get stuck into gooseberry bushes during pruning ;D...not sort of ideal wear for allotment ;D

Haha, super glue  ;D
I used spirit gum to stick a jewel in my navel for a fancy dress party many years ago..(belly dancer)..can't remember how I got it off, too plastered  ;D

You should know better than to ask this lot a thing like that.

Try this link

http://www.props-n-frocks.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=MU027&cat=46

or this

http://www.concertbelts.com/Wig_Glue__Remover.php

Meths or surgical spirit will probably remove it. But if memory serves, it sort of peels off.

;D well..I more and less expected some funny answers..it would have been disappointment if not ;D But I was trusting that at least one person comes up with 'goods'.. ;)  ;D
I used spirit gum to stick a jewel in my navel
uhh...that brings some memories.. ::)..I went to carnival once and had loads of all sorts of glittery bits stuck on my face with eyelash glue..when I got home(rather late) there was this sick looking person looking at me back from mirror..all bits had fallen off with glue, taking top layer of skin with it ::) And all night I thought I was the princess of the ball ::) ;D It took couple of weeks my face to heal. Luckily at the time I had plenty of ..err..red medicine...so I did not feel a thing ;D..so I've learned my lesson and now I'm making sure to find out what I put on my face ;D
The glue that I've got doesn't have much info on it and anything it has is truly well covered with price sticker that doesn't come off >:(

You could go full time   :o..ohh..that would be utter nightmare..christmas all year round..I don't really like christmas other than santa and that it gives a break from gardening. By next week I'll be screaming to get out and 'connect with the soil'  ::)
or some 'sticks like sh*t'
;D yeah, could do something like that..had to sow elastic for the beard..rollers made beard too heavy to stay on with glue ::) But for the night I shall need all the glue, plaster and cement to keep it in place. We don't want to give the pleasure for the 'little bleeders' to find who's the Santa ;D
Now I just have to start drinking some whiskey to bring my voice down..how much do you think I will need for it? ;D

You make a stunning Santa with the perfect rosy-North cheeks. It worries me about your caper earlier with eyelash glue removing skin. Maybe you are allergic to gums and should try applying your glue in a tiny hidden spot first to see if it will react poorly.

It worries me about your caper earlier with eyelash glue removing skin. ohh..no worries Annie ;D I used then a glue that wasn't water based and did need a remover..so I literally ripped all bits of from skin ::) But as I couldn't read the label on this glue I did do a little trial..and pheww..it is waterbased so won't stick 'permanently'.
But if this glue wouldn't been water based I would have been 'stuck' as trying to get hold of another pot this close to the day would have been almost impossible. Postal service is not on my 'pressie list' this Christmas..took nearly 3 weeks to get my new breard kit since it was sent from the shop ::) Good thing that I was early when ordering it.
Happy Christmas to you too Annie :-* ;)

Not  a good idea if you have a lot of deliveries, stuck in the snow maybe, but stuck on the bog would really upset the kids

Congratulations on a job well done Mrs Clause. 10/10 for effort & dedication. Why on earth should anyone think you are loony?

I do wish you lived closer though, we could have great fun ;) ;D.
