Does anyone have any recommendations?
We both like town & country gloves. Certainly kept us warm in very cold weather. They are thornproof too.
It depends a lot on what I am doing. I hate dirty finger nails so will wear those surgeon style gloves when potting up.
This time of year though it is usually thicker glover to keep warm and I will wear two pairs, one pair of thermals with a tougher water proof on top. Marigold type washing up gloves are good enough for me.
I do not understand why they sell those cotton type gloves for gardening. Totally useless. My favourites are ones I buy on the market which are stretchy material on the back, giving a good fit and then plastic on the fingers and palms. These are used for industrial work but I love them for gardening and the cost is between 50p and a £1 a pair. They launder in the washing machine too.
This is sort which are 78p a pair. Not where I buy them but it does give a picture

Lidl had some thinsulate lined work gloves today at 3.99. Seemed a bit expensive to me. I prefer a real leather fingered type.
