Can these jobbies infect copied music files from pc to i-pods & visa versa?
No - Not really telboy..
There have been a few reported instances of trojan infected mp3 files but the files are actually complete fakes and are really an executable file - ie. they are song.mp3.exe rather than song.mp3 but most people wont see the .exe on the end.
Thanks Baz!
;)
There are ways of delivering malicious content via the header of the MP3 such that the MP3 player will play it OK but the PC could be infected, if I remember correctly it's dependant on you using Media Player in a rather insecure way.. It's Gods way of telling you to stop usiong M$ products :D
There was such a vunerability about 8 yrs ago but not anymore.
I think it was WinAmp...
If this were true then there would be millions of people infected everyday as copying/playing MP3 files is probably one of the most popular pastimes on the net...
More FUD from the Linux Community?? ;) ;)
