Title: Supermarket shopping by phone?
Post by: caroline7758 on December 03, 2010, 16:43:52
Does anyone know whether any of the major supermarkets will take orders by telephone, and if so is there a minimum order? My dad is 83 and normally pretty active but he can't get out in the snow as he lives on a hill which is not gritted.
He does not have internet access. He has Tesco, Asda and Booths in his area (near Kendal).

Can you go on the internet and get the phone numbers and telephone to ask.  Booths have a good reputation-we do go there if on holiday- great bottled beer selection. Oops sorry I digress :-[

Our local co-op has been known to deliver in bad weather but only very local to the shop.

Thanks for all your replies. I spoke to my dad this morning and he'd managed to get to Booth's on the bus and get some shopping which he carried from the bus stop in his rucksack- told you he was independent!
