;D ;D ;D
Well, as long as we can a) actually get to Gatwick, and b) get a flight out of the country we're off on our hols. Won't be back until the new year, so I just want to wish you all a very merry Xmas and a happy and productive growing New Year! I've had an absolutely fantastic gardening year, lots of successes, lots learnt, a few failures, started to save my own seeds for the 1st time, and still loads to do, learn and try next year. So a monster thank you to all you lovely folk on here :)

ps - can I ask for a collective crossed fingers for getting to the airport tomorrow and getting our flight on Friday morning - pleeeeaaaaasssssse :) :) :)
Good luck! They do say the snow is going to ease towards the weekend.
Have a wonderful holiday- I presume it'll be somewhere sunny!
Have a good one! Don't get coldburn on your way to airport and do not get sunburn while your hols ::) ;D
Thanks :)
Memo to self take kendal mint cake with us on the train to the airport ;) Those poor people stuck on trains overnight in Kent - must have been awful!!
And yes you presume right - we're off to India 8) Hoping to get back to see some more spice gardens while we are there, and will try and get some decent photos this time round ::)
Have a great holiday. Looking forward to the pics.
Have a wonderful holiday. That's a long one.
Hope you have a great time and good luck at the airport. ;D ;D ;D
Good luck to you.
Last time we had a problem it was on the return trip and sadly we did not find out until after we had thrown all our laundry into the suitcases (I always wash everything when we get back) so other than sniffing out what was clean and what was not. We had to guess.
So, in future I will keep what I know is clean slightly appart.
We ended up with an extra couple of days holiday and compensation from the insurance for it which we were rather happy with.
Have a wonderful time and a stressless journey.
Thank you for the Christmas wishes. You enjoy yours too.
Take care.
Don't look good on the news, >:( but you will get there eventually so don't get too down hearted.
If I'm not too late..........have a wonderful holiday and see you when you get back.
thanks for all you good wishes :) and yes Ace, we will get there......... eventually! We've had getting on for 18inches of snow here - the most I've ever known. On a positive note, the garden looks stunning, and we even ate some of the last salad / lettuce leaves last night for dinner!
Just exactly how and when we'll get to Gatwick and then leave for our hols, who knows right now........
1066 - still needing some collective crossed fingers :D
Got them all crossed for you, enjoy your trip.
our posts must have crossed squash, so not too late, thank you :)
and thanks poppy mole, think I had better get packing anyway ;)
We hope that you have a really great holiday 8)
Everything I've got two of crossed.
Ow!, the things I do for friends ;)

Fingers firmly crossed here, hope you get away ok.
Have a fantastic time and watch out for those mossies ;D
;D ;D ;D at you Ace! Now I'm sure you're not meant to be crossing your knees, what would your physio say about that!
Yup Gatwick shut, no trains on any of the lines out of here, police advising not to travel by road.......................... looks like you will all have to put up with me for a while longer ::)
anyway this should make you laugh or cry ............

Glad you are safe anyway, had visions of you stuck in a car somewhere. :)
well, the flights are re-booked for Sunday morning
Which does mean I should at least be able to get to the allotment tomorrow to knock all the snow of the frames ;D
Every cloud & all that ;) ;D.
Hurry up my knackers are killing me. :-[ :-[ :-[
Oi you Kev!
Mind you I think you and Ace can both uncross "things" now!
It's all systems go! Glad you will finally be getting on your way come Sunday, phew! :D
2nd attempt will be made around High Noon today. :D
Because the train companies are running revised timetables we will take 3 separate train journeys (normally 1 train takes us to the aiport directly in an hour / hour and half). Or persuade a friend to drive us......
Whatever happens - we
WILL make it the aiport, where we have a hotel booked (lost the money on the other hotel booking at Gatwick - thieving scum! Will have to try and claim on our insurance for that) where I will settle down for the night and watch c****py TV and have a few drinkettes ;D and OH will be watching the cricket :)
She's nearly left the building...............
