Nice eh. Not when you see the mash, not the white creamy stuff, but bl00dy purple!
PURPLE MASH! what's going on? I blame that Heston Blumenuisance bloke, I got her the hairy bikers book with proper recipes but no, it ain't trendy enough.
What's next Garlic bread?
Should have grown white carrots and roasted some red potatos and maybe a bit of black kale too :D
PS which blue variety is it?
If you are feeeling brave you can also do red (Highland Burgundy) and blue mash (Salad Blue)... :)
they're probably normal spuds, only Mrs ACE has overdone it with the rat poison :D taken out any insurance policies lately ACE?

;D ;D ;D :o
Who could blame her, sorry Ace, only kidding ;D ;D ;D.
We had purple mash in a meal once,I think it had blackberries in. I thought it looked unappetising.
Have you found out what variety of potato she used or did she add blackberries?
Do these coloured potatoes retain the colour when cooked or are they like purple tepee beans which are our favourite but turn greeen when cooked?
Both the varieties I mentioned above retain their colour when cooked... although it can be a bit washed out if boiled a long time. Excellent colour if baked though! :)
Look forward to next year then though OH alsoreluctant to try non conventional coloured veg! ;)

Sorry ACE, but I'm having difficulty imagining your plateful.
Gammon - fresh cabbage - carrots - roasties (?potatoes), Yorkshire puds, and a pile of mash.
No parsley sauce. ::) ???
Why do you need roasties and mash? - and Yorkshire puds as well.

It was my dinner I was talking about, not a little snack.

Perhaps if I had a bit of cod on the plate I might think about it, but I would not ruin a nice bit of gammon with the slimey muck. I keep forgeting that you lot north of Watford will eat anything Delia tells you to. ;)
I thought you may have had a bit of Medlar jelly with it. :P

I only use jam on bread.
What is wrong with purple?
Maybe the Yeti in pink knickers mixed slug pellets in the mash, only you have been a bit slow on the ol pegs lately since the knee op Ace, one could say you've been a bit sluggish. :-X ;) ;D ;D ;D
Presume she bought the Bartletts Purple Majesty from Sainsburys. There is another thread about them. Actually I rather like them very nice microwaved with either butter or cheese. No added colour needed - its all natural. Does not loose the colour when cooked. I like the flavour.
Actually have loads of antioxidants in them. Now you will live for ever. ;D

Who in their right mind would do that! They were those jobbies from Sainsburys, now I have to endure the multicoloured bubble and squeak, I had better not let her know they are healthy otherwise she will get them again. But she ain't talking at the moment so they have some benefits. But I ain't allowed any pud till I finish them. >:(
