I have a couple of rows of celeriac - than these be left in over winter or should I lift them and store as carrots etc.
I'm not sure - the problem is guessing how bad the frost will get I suppose. Have you got anything you can insulate them with like straw or fleece or something?
So have I. So in a week or so, when it thaws, I should be able to let you know.... :-X
Can't get the fork in to get my jerusalem artichokes out - and I was looking forward to them for dinner.
Always worth digging a few and putting in a bucket of dry ish compost. Left by the back door so you can get them out when you want some... worth remembering when it thaws...
My beetrot and carrots in buckets of peat outside my g/h were frozen solid, except one which was full of ?water. Moved them into greenhouse to defrost a bit. Will lift parsnips etc as soon as able as I left it until the week before Christmas last year and guess what.... had to go and buy em as the groung was frozen solid.
Admittedly, I'm in the south west, but I never pull celeriac or leeks till I need them. We've had -3C the last two nights and they look okay.

Still I'm going to brave the elements this weekend dig a few up and draw soil up around the rest - time will tell.
I only have three left, :'( they were earthed up about 6 weeks ago but I might put a plastic cloche over them just to be on the safe side. ;D ;D ;D
ours are all in damp compost in the garage :)

Have had partially frozen celeriacs in the past. Haven't dug all mine yet either and guess there will be frozen bits again. Got the carrots out in time, but did not expect it getting quite so cold in November :(
I guess it will be a case of preparing them all and putting them in the freezer before rot sets in.
Jerusalem Artichokes usually stay ok here but they are in a fairly warm area of the garden.
Mine are all nicely insulated by about 50 cm of snow! Carrots, beetroot, celeriac, parsnips and leeks!! :'( :'(
Although not edibles the Agapanthus are looking really sorry for themselves... :-X
