Title: Mobile Phones
Post by: Sinbad7 on November 21, 2010, 23:17:49
If you were about to buy a new mobile, which one would you buy?

Mine is okay but nearly everytime I put it in my pocket it turns itself off even though it is in a case.  It drives me mad I miss so many calls.

I don't carry a bag or purse with me so it either goes into my jeans or coat pocket.

Do you have the same problem?  Or how best to solve it?

Sinbad,

I do not take my mobile with me when I am at the Lottie. Are these calls that you miss emergency calls? I love the peace when I am with my veg and if I am needed I dial 1471 on my land line when I get home. It is almost as bad as a portable radio playing full blast when I hear some of the stupid ring tones emitted by mobiles, my friends know were I am if my phone is switched off.

My mobile has an MP3   player as well as  a radio so I tend to have that on anyway while I work the plot... It's a Nokia X6 and although smal l by the standards of smarrtphones it does what I want... camera, GPS, email sync to the office (wheen I want it to), bit of web... as well as being a normal phone size....

I've always had Nokia and haven't had any problems.  My husband has a different make, can't remember what it is at the moment, but it is much more difficult to use than the Nokia.
Mine is only a cheap one but works perfectly.
I keep it in my pocket too.

Personally I would go for an HTC Desire HD as they are gorgeous but not everyones cuppa!  Depends if you want a bells and whistles smartphone or just something to make calls with...

mine's a small, 5 yr old samsung, slides open so not many problems, it was dropped into a rock pool in Cornwall, put on the radiator to dry out and still works  ;D

Wow Ace, those contracts look a good deal ;D

It's usually my OH looking for me queenbee as I have a tendency to forget the time, all the time, when I'm let out

Thanks for all the replies.  I'll have to have a ponder.
