Title: New Alleged Scam
Post by: brian4951 on November 17, 2010, 18:56:06
WATCH OUT FOR THIS ALLEGED SCAM!!
A card is posted through your door from a compny called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium number rate). DO NOT call this number, as this is a scam originating in Belize.
If you call this number and you start to hear a recorded message, you
will already have been billed £315 for the call! If you receive the
card, contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655.Trading Standards are
aware of this scam. >:( >:(

It's a hoax Brian.  See here (http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/output/news/postal-scam-chain-email-phonepayplus-statement.aspx).

0906 numbers cost up to £1.50 per minute, and this one was shut down in 2005.
