..and my neighbours.
Went down the plot this morning to discover this had happened. My neighbour's shed was wooden, completely burnt to the ground, just charcoal left. Mine is a metal shed and everything inside was burnt out - tools, hoses, enviromesh, netting, fleece, bean sticks, gloves, t pegs, packs of BFB and bonemeal - keep thinking of what was in there! Just feel VERY sad.
On the good side, borrowed a spade and lifted 2 lovely parsnips and picked sprouts for today's dinner. And my broadies are showing.
Sorry to hear that, I bit you are hopping mad. Council stopped us having sheds on our allotment site for that reason. Hope they catch whoever did it, but I suppose that will be very difficult.
Very sorry to hear that. I struggle to understand what makes people do things like that.
I hope that you will not be put off.
Anne
Not a hope of catching anyone. There are lots of chickens kept on our site but luckily none of their sheds were done - doesn't bear thinking about if they had been.
Sorry about that plot51A, it's upsetting I'm sure.
I am so sorry and angry to hear about the damage to and loss of your garden shed, tools etc. What a mindless act of vandalism to cause this damage.
Please report it to the police. There may not be much chance of getting whoever did it, but you have sustained a big loss financially to replace the mesh and sticks and other bits. let alone the upset and hurt. And it needs to be recorded as a crime, not as a bit of vandalism that can be ignored.
Glad you still have nice crops in the ground.
So sorry and angry to here this. >:( >:( >:(
This is terrible. Do you have any kind of insurance?
Sorry to hear this. Has your site got security? All this just for a "laugh"!!!
So sorry to read about this, you must be so upset. I too think you should report it if you haven't yet, they may just look round a bit more often as a deterrent....
So sorry to hear that....makes me so angry!! >:(
Sorry to hear this Plot, feel gutted for you. Stupid, stupid people! >:(
There are some sad people about. Sorry to hear this plot51a. I think you are very brave to find things to be positive about, I would be so hopping mad.
Awful to hear plot51A - thank goodness the birds were ok. How are you feeling now?
Very sad how some sick people get a kick out of doing things like this ??? Dont let them drag you down.
sorry to hear this plot51A
where in Norfolk are you? (I'm taking over as secretary of the Norfolk branch of nsalg next year)
oh bum sorry to hear that!
Hugs xx
Awful thing to happen.
Awful to hear your news... log it with the police though... the more reports they get the more likely they are to do something about it...
chrisc
horrible news,my thoughts are with you and your neighbour. glad you are such a good person you are able to see the positive in your snips and broadies, such a winning atttitude and I hope I would be the same in your position.keep your chin up x
Sorry to hear about your shed it's sad what some people have to do to get there kicks nowdays.
Thanks to everyone for your support. Have reported it to both the Allotments Officer and the police. Police were in fact very helpful and will send someone to inspect the damage to determine if it is a scene of crime (as opposed to an accident from a stray firework. Through closed doors? I think not, but fair enough, very happy for them to look.) If deemed a crime it is apparently criminal damage. Better not start the clean up till they've been.
If the shed was in my garden would be covered by insurance - but not on the lottie.
Just got back from our site having spoken to our site rep and one of our sister sites was "done" on Monday night, conveniently our towns carnival night.
These people came armed with bolt cutters to get through the strong fencing and then set fire to sheds and smashed greenhouses >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
I don't think they took anything so why oh why :o :o :o
I'm just wondering if our site is next. :(

Hi, I'm on the same site as you and was at the lotty on Sunday and Monday (and to my shame didn't even notice any sheds had been burned :() and I'm really sorry to hear you lost all your stuff.
Please please let me know if there's anything I can give you, I've got a shed full of bits and pieces and I'd love to help. I should be at the lotty again at the weekend, I'm plot number forty-two, I think we spoke on the way to a council meeting last year or the year before.
macmac: So sorry to hear about that - do hope your site will not be done. The same thing happened at the site I was on in Cardiff before moving to Norfolk - every single greenhouse smashed and sheds burnt. There really is so little can be done if they are determined to get in. Mindless. The "old boys" on my site, who've had plots for 30+ years say things have been stolen in the past but this is the first time that sheds have been burnt. Just hope its the last.
norfolklass: Thank you so much for your lovely offer. We are away this weekend so won't be down the plot but will try and catch up with you another weekend - will send you a pm. Thank you again.
I met with a PCSO yesterday morning and it's all now officially logged. Also my lovely neighbour not only reinforced the burnt fence but also mended my broken gate.
It restores your faith in people.
