Title: New Next Year
Post by: boydzfish on November 06, 2010, 09:18:35
Anyone going to try a new plant or crop next year? Thought I might have a go at some sweet potatoes! :)

They are really worthwhile under glass...  :)
Sometimes you even get morning glory type flowers as well...

I didn't know they had nice flowers.

I'll be trying some bitter gourd next year. I don't know if it will be warm enough to get a crop, but worth a try!

And a few other firsts, but not exotic, just firsts for me, like peas!

Well, seeing as I've just massively expanded my growing space, I'll be growing lots of things which are new and exciting (for me!).

Onions, peas, pumpkins, winter squash, sweetcorn, kale, spring greens, carrots, parsnips, sprouts, turnips, leek and spinach are all the new things I've got planned (hope I'm not being too ambitious...)

If you are too ambitious that is not really a problem.  Because it will show up what is easy under your conditions and what is more difficult.  At the end of the year you will be much more experienced and know how to make most of them work out for you.

If you try a lot of different things, a lot will work out and the ones that didn't, don't matter so much.  Good luck.
