I was informed yesterday that ellie2cats, who had been a member since July 2007, sadly passed away a week ago yesterday. She'd had a fall, spent several days in hospital before returning home only to go back again where she had a heart attack from which she didn't recover.
I'll remember her as following my comment where I identified a plant in her garden as collomia she very kindly sent me a few.
Such sad news Mike.
That's very sad, thanks for letting us know.
Very, very sad news.
Commiserations to all her family.

Sorry to hear this, thank you for letting us know. I loved her appropriate avatar.
I hadn't read this dear ladys posts but just had a look. How splendid that she was making jam just a few weeks ago.
When you lose someone it's a comfort to know they "lived"until they died ,by that I mean enjoyed living .

Sorry to hear of her death. She was always a very positive poster.
So sad when a member dies.
such sad news, thanks for letting us know Flighty.
And you will have somethhing lovely to look at in the collomia :)
Oh, such sad news :( Thank you for letting us know, Mike.
Thanks everybody! It was her son who emailed me, among many others, and another member widgetwilk who told me what had happened. She'd been a near neighbour who had known Ellie for ten years and said, not surprisingly, that she would miss her a lot.
1066 unfortunately the plants she sent me didn't fare too well and I was only recently thinking of asking her if she'd saved any seed this year so that I could try again. What I'll do now is to buy some, and if I'm successful I'll offer some here next year.
So sorry to hear Ellie has passed away.
Didn't know her, but it is always sad when a fellow enthusiast dies. Commiserations to family and friends.
that's a lovely idea Flighty
