Is just me or are seed companies early this year with their next years catalogues?
I've had first ones few weeks ago..I can't remember them being ready this time of the year ???
I've had T&M, Sutton's, Simpson's, Plants of Distinctions..and ..and..
They must be after our money.
They are here too, now do you open them straight away or keep them for a quiet moment?
;D..depends on the cataloque..interesting ones straight away..have to have coffebreak then..even if I've just had one..but the 'boring ones' I'll keep for the desperate moments when there is nothing better to do ;D I'll still have to rip the plastics off..can't stand those..
Now you mention it goodlife, I think you're right.
Moles Seeds has always been this time of year. They enclose a year planner which runs from October to September.
I've already received Plants of Distinction, D T Brown, MrF's and Dobies.
The catalogues used to come through early in the new year (ie after Christmas).
You'd passed the Winter solstice, and were starting to think about the new year's crops. They also helped to while away the days when you could do absolutely nothing in either garden or greenhouse. ??? ;D
As the global warming bods are telling us, everything is getting earlier. ;D ;D

This earliness does spoil my tradition with catalogues..
When there is freezing cold outside..I like to make myself comfy and warm..clear desk and get big notepad out..drink of some sort..OH sent upstairs to watch something from his telly..and then get catalogues out..wright endless lists what to get..play game of 'elimination of unnecessary items' as lists get too big for pocket money ::)..endless comparisons which way ordering become cheapest..and any freebies too are important ;D I could spend ours..and when there is rumbling of hungry bellies..well..they can sort themselves out..seed catalogue shopping 'moment' is my serious Mealtime..strictly undisturbed time ;D
And now!!.. >:(..they are coming wrong time of the year..who is going to wait until winter to have a peek ::)
Yes I have had three from T&M already only about another 6 or 7 to come yet!!
No wonder their stuff is so expensive what with all the catalogues they repeatedly send out!
I have already purchased most of my seeds and my order is in from the allotment association list (Kings)
My compost & fertiliser list is also on order.
Hope to take delivery of my farmyard manure (including its weedkiller content) within the next few days!
My planting plan is made out, I have about 50% of my winter digging done, can't do the remainder until I harvest some stuff that is still on the go!
So basically I will be ready to shut up shop at the end of the month and go into hibernation for three months!
