Title: Winter onion purchase

Winter onions and shallots purchased today from Clockhouse our local Nursery, £2.30 per kilo each, 33 shallots and zillions of onions. I hope to get some in tomorrow.     ;D ;D ;D

On the subject of onions is it best to plant them or start them off in modules?

Straight out for sets but net them till they're established to stop the birds pulling them up,l modules for seed cos you'll not need to worry about thinning them.... even if it's a bit fiddly planting out, it's better than thinning .....

That's a good price, similar for onions as my lottie shop. It's the shallots that I'm interested in as "The Lottie shop" doesn't have any at the mo and the prices quoted are very high from the seed merchants. Your very lucky.

A line an a half of shallots went in today and half a line of onions,willl do my best to get the rest in this week, I did give lottie mate Bart about 50 onions as there was far too many for me.    ;D ;D ;D

planted up my onion mix from wilkies today, will plant out the garlic when the french beans finish  :)

Another two lines of onions went in today, 117 onions.   ;D ;D ;D
