Allotments 4 All

I've been asked to set up this poll, so folk on here can decide democratically which charity we support this year. I've set it to run for 7 days, then perhaps Mike (Flighty) can set up a method of payment to the chosen charity.

In view of the fact that the voting remains so close between GardeningLeave and Thrive can I suggest that whichever one we don't donate to this time we do so next year without having to go through this rigmarole again!

I would also point out that so far I've not voted and hope that I don't have to. However if the votes remain level then although I support Thrive I suggested GardeningLeave as an alternative and will vote for the latter.

Well I have found the voting quite exciting.......maybe because I like Horse racing LOL. ;D ;D ;D

I have voted once, can I vote again.  I really, really know who I want to win.  Shame I didn't win the Euromillions or could have given everyone something.

Only one vote B LOL...anyone claimed those millions yet ? ;D

Flighty maybe you are not the only one holding their vote back till the last minute.

However if we are going to follow your suggestion it is only fair I guess that third place goes to the year after next if we survive that long.

Or maybe next year we just all donate as individuals to save the hassle! ::)

I decided that when I retired I would no longer give to charity, only the odd change in a charity box but no standing orders, but I think this is a nice idea and I will give as much/little I can afford, and it is so exciting to see who wins, so think it is a good idea as it just gives us all an extra push to give and see that all the good people on here are doing the same.  So without rambling too much, think it is a very good idea.

Ah but the proof of the pudding is when they donate, not when they vote!! And will all the voters donate?

Just wondering when the link will be put up for donating. I am away for my usual visit to my sister in Kent and will be away for a week from 16th, no access to computer. I am assuming the link will be available for some time ?
