The plot next to mine has been let yet again and people are doing things. ;D I was seriously thinking of giving it up after one nightmare tennant who appeared occasionally, planted stuff and left it all to fester. The blight on his toms was awful. The next person did nothing at all and the weeds were taller than me. Needless to say they have flowered, gone to seed and blown on to my plot. I have found it really difficult to keep on top of them as I am limited with time this season. The new family have begun clearing in earnest and I'm ever hopeful. ;D ;D
Hope the new people keep up the good work.
Nowt worse than having to fight weeds that have come from anothers plot.
I think we were so welcomed when we went to see daughters plot. They could see we meant business. Absolute delight when we saw the quality of manure available. The plot hadn't been worked properly for over 9 years.
we had this for a few years, maggie..it made such a difference once the plots next to ours weren't full of docks, dandelions, etc, now we just have to pull out the tree seedlings from everywhere (we're surrounded by sycamores) ;D
oh joy indeed - i am very pleased for you.
Hooray - nice for you, nice for them :)
They certainly are doing well, 1/3 cleared now. ;D
fingers crossed Emaggie,we had two plots let on our site weeks ago ,they signed the agreement, bought their key and then......nothing -no show.
I don't understand it but reading these posts it seems a common problem

I'm sure that some people just want to say that they've got an allotment but don't have any intention of actually doing anything on it. It's happened on our site a few times.
Theres noothing I'd like more than to be getting crackin on our new half plot at Bettys. We did manage to get a compost container erected and pull a few weeds before ower Tone had his hernia op. At the moment its a case of me trying to stay sane while he recovers.

You mean
become sane don't you Shirl? ;D
:o
You beat me to it Betty. :P :P :P :P :P
Hope you pointed them in our general direction ;D, This site was a god send when i first got my plot, lots of encouragement and knowledgeable bods give to you the info you need to get started and its keeps on giving new ideas and seeds to try out ;)
I have a neighbour who is very keen to learn but I just cannot get her to remove her blighted omatoes.
My new extra bit has pigs next to it and that will be a new set of allotments next year so I am praying for someone keen. But beyond that is a hay field full of dandelions so whatever happens it is a case of hoing and mulching.
