This is what you get when you plant out one of Lidls living salad punnets. Not bad for 69p

I did just that too earlier in the year. Then I was waiting for the other mix to appear in their store - but it didn't. Last year I enjoyed the pak choy,  lollo rosso (sp?) and rocket selection. Shame they didn't do it this year.

I did the same with a sainsburies one - great results but not as good looking as yours!

A shop near me sells packs of assorted salad seeds mixed with vermiculite. These work fine in any sized  tub and I have had a pack which I keep replanting from.

This sort of idea is great for any one with only a balcony to grow on, constant fresh salad leaves and with a mix of reds and greens, it does not look unattractive either.

For the Lidl salads I divided them and put them in two old fruit boxes so that I could move them around according to the weather at home.  i cut and cut again so many times that we were eating salads for months.  A bargain!!
