Hi I have to lift two strawberry beds no idea how many but had good crop from them this year. I cant do much work till end of this month when I get a plaster of my leg, does when!! make much difference as I will be cutting them down before shifting them.

If you are going to move strawberries from one bed to another, then October is a pretty good time to do it. It's the time of year when I do most of that sort of work, and because the soil is still relatively warm, the roots get a chance to bed in before winter comes. You may need to irrigate though, if there's no rain.
I dug all my strawberrys last year for they had lot's of weeds in between. I then manure it and planted the one's I've dug. To my horror and embarrassment I didn't get a single strawberry at all. I have no idea what I did wrong !
Depending on where you are in the country, some had a really bad year for strawberry crops. A combination of severe winter, then a hard drought from April through to the end of July, severely affected my output this year. I reckon I am down to less than half what I'd normally expect.
Thanks for the reply's guys think I will have a go come October just had a delivery of some of the upstanding ones anyone tried them
