we have finally given our last 4 chooks away, one of the suggestions for the area is for our school beds, something one of the plot holder's plan..this is the area as it stands now, needs lots of hard work but it will be worthwhile, already have some schools interested, the area will have raised beds on :)
Sorry to hear you have finished with chooks, hope not too sad a day.
What a super idea to use the area for school beds, sounds like it will be well used.
well, the area is now in the process of being cleared, we have got the funding for the wood etc and our friends at Wigan in bloom (who got a gold btw ;D ) have arranged for 8 tons of soil, we have 1 school interested with another 3 to arrange..looking at starting in march :)
well done you Manics for organising this. Let us know how you get on!
Right, the beds are now finished, filled with the, in the end, 10 tons of topsoil and we're finishing off the paths with weed control and wood chip, I'm sure you'll agree it's a vast improvement , roll on March ;D

Thank you, rugbypost. I think we'll be ok for seeds, we're all seedaholics on our site and a lovely lady from a4a , Jeannine, sent me some small squash seeds for the children to sow :)
