Title: Marshalls
Post by: chairman on September 06, 2010, 09:44:52
Just taken delivery of my order of winter brassicas from Marshalls.

And put it straight in the compost bin, leafless weak and spindly yellow plants more rotton leafs in the packaging than on the plants.

phoned them up to be told that fine they OK.

after a while they agreed a full refund.

who packs and sends out live plants on a Friday knowing full well that it will be 3 days before they are delivered.

bad times... i got my winter plugs off ebay and have been amazed how good they are... and at a very good price
I paid just £5.50 for 20 plugs with delivery, and lots more bargains to be had!

I was not best pleased with Marshalls got a pack of strawberries bit three of one variety are a different variety from the others and they had said this is impossible and refused to replace them.

I also got some runner beans Moonlight from them and they are not the same as those I got direct from the breeder Tozer.

Have been pleased with Marshalls in the past - BUT also very disappointed with the winter brassicas. Not had plugs from them before and won't buy from them again. Have previously used Delfland and always had excellent plants/service from them.

I got mine from marshalls - and i have planted them thinking they were okay (okay there were a few broken yellow leaves - but i thought they looked okay!) - but i have never bought from any other company before.  Oh thats worrying.

So what companies would you suggest in the future.
