Title: Heat pads?
Post by: grannyjanny on September 04, 2010, 12:02:50
Following on from Paganskins topic I've recently seen heat pads in the sale at a garden centre & wondered what the opinion was on them?

I've resurrected the heating pad we used for back pain and put it under seeds that need help germinating. Works like a charm.
It is the water proof type so won't get electrocuted

Sorry can't help as I've no experience of them. I was tempted by heat mats before, but I already had a propagator, if you get some I'll be intrested to know you get on  :)

Much more flexible in use than a propagator.

Depends how keen you are. They have good thermostats. We have a 2mx1m one.

Most things grow on better with a bit of bottom heat.
