Or get paper sacks for free from your local chippy.

Like the others said; use paper bags I find them better as no light gets through them to 'green' the potatoes.

Obviously you need to allow your tubers to dry a bit or the wetness will soften the paper.

I get mine from the local seedsman who decants various animal feeds into smaller packages for sale to the public, as the bags are of little use to him afterwards.

But as Caroline says the local 'chippy' might have a few.

Chippies are keen to get rid, but watch for signs of rot (blight) on the used bags. I used hessian  but it was too popular with the mice....  :-X

To avoid any contamination with the previous contents I turn the bags inside out prior to use!

My local non-chain GC sell off their seed potato sacks for 50p each... I got four and it made getting my spud harevst home a lot easier.... now I just need to audit them and get them in the smaller cardboard boxes for long-term keeping.... Each sack came home with 2 or 3 varieties in plus the marker tags for them, that was to allwo me to judge each varieties quality etc, the boxes will be marked up as "bakers", "mash" etc THe PFA might stay in a sack though cos there's nearly a sack full of just them.... they also store well in my experience...
