Title: Sweet fancies
Post by: Mrs Ava on December 18, 2004, 12:53:08
I did try to post these on the recipe site, but an error kept occuring, so plonked them here instead.  :D

The first one is cherry milk fudge.  It is a crumbly fudge, not my fave, but my mums fave, and it will be going in her Christmas hamper I have put together.

The second one are dates stuffed with amaretto enhanced marzipan and dipped in chocolate.

Couple more, English toffee and the last batch of mince pies, done the Delia way with the latice top so the brandy butter can oooooooze into them.  :P

And here are some little boxes I have made to put the chocs in.  Once for mum, one for nan and one for my uncle.  :D

EJ they look wonderful. Are the recipes on R4A? Was stuck on a present to buy for the school teachers this year, a box of homemade goodies would have been lovely. I like your boxes as well, such a good idea to make your own festive boxes, did you use card and cover with paper?

I will post the recipes on the site if you like, and as for the boxes, I found the template on the web...and I am sure I saved it in my faves....but do you think I can find it! Will hunt it down.  But I printed some christmassy designs on the thickest card my printer can hack, and there you are.  :D

Recipes for the toffee and fudge are posted on the recipes 4 all site.

Kerry, I have never made Turkish Delight, don't like it at all, think my dad traumatised me as a child as it was his most fave and he would always have a stash in the fridge.  ;D

So, to add to the sweet boxes for the rellies, here is what I busied myself with today.

The first piccy is rum truffles dunked in plain choccy, the others are a selection, some rolled in grated choccy, some in vermicelli, some in cocoa, some have chopped crystalised ginger in and are rolled and then have a thingy of ginger in the top and some have chopped walnuts in with a thingy of nut in the top.  Made over 40 chocs in all.

Where do I find the time.......in this part of Essex there is a little hole in the space time continueum, which reaches parts other beers cannot reach, kills all known germs dead and does the shake and vac to put the freshness back, so you see, time, and sanity is not an issue.   :P :P :P
