Title: Is it really August?
Post by: grannyjanny on August 26, 2010, 19:51:01
Could someone please confirm the date. I have just put the Winter duvet back on the bed & I am sat cuddling a hot water bottle with big knitted slippers on my feet.

Yes, tis august and my heating has been off and on most of this summer.  It has never really been warm up here since June, a cold wet July and same in august.  Apparently last Friday it rained continously all day ( I was on holiday).  I live in hope that we get a warm September but not holding my breath.

::)

We went to an outdoor performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" last night. I had my thermals and a woolly hat on and I was still cold. ::) At leastit didn't rain and it was a good show.

Yes Grannyjanny. Granddaughter knows I didn't want to know but little Chloe-Anne (3) let it slip out to me that she is going to soon have a baby sister!!!

still mid summer here, a bit wet but we needed it. At least 2 months before the heating goes on. Mind you I shall be heading north next month, I usually find I leave here in the summertime and arrive late autumn  8 hours later.

I have a load of odd socks and well worn kecks I shall be bringing with me to donate to the poor and needy of the frozen wastelands. So if you need any just get down to the  M6 services where I will dispense them to anybody touching their forelock. But don't tell everyone as I do not want to be mobbed.

I did ask the husband about two days when it had become October without me noticing. The response was that we better get the nursery finished pretty blooming quickly!

You really would not think it was August. Which reminds me, I'd better go and get the washing in. Looks like rain again  ::)

lovely here  :) and as we approach September, one of my favourite months, I am certain it will not disappoint - yes strange summer for many but try and remember that amazing hot and dry spring and early summer
