Title: Potato Days?
Post by: Sparky on December 17, 2004, 13:55:05
If i remember correctly last year some people were mentioning a potato day where you could go and try lots of different varieties of potato... does anyone else remember that, or know whether there are any of these potato days this year :-\

Hi Sparky - yes!

HDRA have theirs on 29th and 30th Jan (http://www.hdra.org.uk/news/news_topic.php?id=115) - but there are several more around the country; the Hampshire HDRA have a listing of some (all?) on http://www.hhdra.org.uk/potato.htm#days

Good luck - great place to pick just a few each of all sorts of interesting spuds.

Gavin,

Thanks for plugging my site - I was busy preparing to be happy and jolly

The biggest (in terms of quantity of varieties >120 incl Sarpo Axona and Sarpo Mira + >20 organic) and best (in terms of other things on offer) is, of course, the Hampshire Day

For some reason Ryton has moved its day to clash but it's also on 29 and 30th Jan full details www.hhdra.org.uk/potatoday.htm (http://www.hhdra.org.uk/potatoday.htm)

Phil

And it's cheaper than Ryton - only £2!

Seriously - support your local Potato Day there are now 11 confirmed up and down the country
