Post by: Duke Ellington on August 25, 2010, 17:36:05
Am I the only person that pukes at undercooked meat on TV shows!! :-X
I heard the steak *moo* on the plate while I watched Celebrity Masterchef the other night ~~John Torrode said it was overcooked :-X
Maybe fine dining just isn't for me  :'(.........."barf"

No you are not the only one- anything more than a faint pink tinge makes me heave.
and of course there is the fashion for raw fish....

I always get sad looks in restaurants as I demand that all my meat is very, very DEAD!

I love rare meat - Steak and Lamb should be bleeding on the plate.  Steak tartare can be excellent and raw fish can be delicious if served very very fresh..

There is othing worse that an overcooked steak..

They probably cook it like that to save time.

I like mine cooked properly.

You are certainly not the only on.  I cannot stand anything remotely red oozing out of my meat.   They also put far too much salt on things. Causes strokes.

Cook it for as few minutes as possible, but let it rest for twice as long.

I like steak and lamb rare.

I don't eat steak that often actually, but love lamb! As a child, it was always shoulder - very fatty - from New Zealand, and roasted till grey. And then at college it was small rib chops - one per 19-year-old!! Imagine my delight when, as an adult, I discovered salt-marsh lamb in the form of loin or chump chops!!

Grew up with grey meat which was apparently cooked well. Saw the light when someone cooked me a steak medium rare...it tasted of something, WOW meat!
Fabulous, and would not go back to leathery overcooked bits of shoe leather if you paid me!

I think rare meat was OK when it was Beef or lamb, but nowadays it is just load of chemical injected  into it that it has to be well cooked to kill off all that crap they are injecting.
and chickens look at the way they are produced,  then there is farmed fish oh yuck yuck and more yuck.

I ask for mine to be black and blue , charred on the outside, blue in the middle

I will eat lamb the same way,not not a burger.Far too much risk with that.

well i like mine medium rare but that depends meat.
beef meduim rare, bison rare, goat stewed and slow, leg lamb medium rare cooked long.
anyone eating a well done bison steak or burger better is better off not even bothering. since shoe leather has more flavor and is less like to break a tooth.
