Do you remove the lower leaves or wait for them to drop off?
I remove them as they die off
I just leave them to drop off on their own accord on the assumption the plant will do this at the appropriate time.
I leave them unless they are looking particularly ill! ;)
I have always left them to drop off but someone here has taken them off, and last year had spectacularly good sprouts.
I let the fall off on their own, I though you removed them as they fall or go yellow to prevent pests (slugs) living under the debris.
I think the bloke with spectacular sprouts last year would have gotten the same results if he had left them to fall off on their own.
I save work by asking caterpillars to eat ALL the leaves off. That way it saves me
having to harvest anything.
50fty -50fty....
They drops they drops...such is....yellow leaves I remove..other than that ...leave alone..................... ;)
I think we should have a reason for doing things and there is no good reason to remove good leaves from any plant but by all means clear any fallen leaves so as not to give slugs etc, nice hiding places.

This is really strange..............
a neighbour knocked on my door this afternoon and asked me if she should remove the lower leaves on her sprouts. I told her I don't grow them but I would find out.
Looked at the computer and there was this question!
