Though i realise some schools are getting them early via computer so some won't have them yet.
The youngest son has done well 5 A's 3 B's and a C. The C was graphics which the teachers don't bother teaching the theory part of the course so he had to try and learn it himself as well as revise at the same time.
Congratulations to your son, you must be very proud. Well done.
They will still get aload of stick from people who think they have it easy nowadays.(lets see them do better). Still congratulations to all who have passed this year. Oh and I'll have a big mac, frys and a strawberry macflurrie please, to those who didn't.
my son has 9 B's and 6 C's
Congratulations to Kea's son and Hippydave's son, I'm sure you are both really proud of them. :)
No2 daughter got 3 A*s, 1 A, 5 Bs, a C and a D
Congratulations to them all!
My best wishes to all who have had good or even not so good results. I`m a bit past those days now but I do have one GCSE.
I met my wife to be at an Italian evening class in 1984,we never finished. But we both went back around 1999 and both got an A* ;D
And remember children mature at different rates.
My A level results were
D O O
retake
B E E
Then `clearing` and and a `pass` as a chemistry student-I was lucky enough to be able to switch to Psychology.
I have a PhD
Congrats to Kea's son and DJB's daughter. My son took his Music GCSE a year early and got an A. Dreading next year though when he's doing the rest, including a couple of subjects he doesn't like at all!
My grandson got a D in maths, so can't do sixth form college. Oh dear. He should have spent less time playing the drums, and trying to form a band. Well not anyone can be brilliant, and I will have to be like the grandma in the BT advert. An ology, well done. Maybe he will be famous and his band will earn loads and money and he will remember his poor old Nan. ;D ;D ;D

Blimey 15 GCSEs! Did he do em all this year?
15! :o that's too many........ school must be mad! My older son did 11 1/2 and that was too many and they've reduced the number. When you have subjects with high coursework levels e.g Music; Art and graphics like my son did even 9 plus the ICT certificate is enough.
He got A in German the subject the school has dumped at A level.

.That why im happy with Bs if he had done less i think that he may have higher grades but hes got into the 6th form so hes happy and yes he did them all this year,
he did
Chemistry,physics,biology,maths,functional maths,additional maths,higher maths,English lit,functional English,geography,business, information and communication(I.T),religious studies,art and humanities(what ever that is)
No 3. granddaughter has just emailed me to say 1 A*, 4 A`s and 5 B`s
We are retired now, but all our working lives neither my husband nor I were ever asked to prove the qualifications we had
When we appiled for new jobs we just wrote down what we had got.
Granted we are not doctors, dentists etc
Do employers check nowadays?
My lovely granddaughter Rebecca got eight- A-s, two-B-s, and a merit in IT.
Congratulations to everyone.
June.
Yes I was told, despite reasonable marks at 17, that I shouldn't bother going to University by the university liaison officer ...apparently quite a few in my 6th form were told this also and our teachers were absolutely livid afterwards. The I applied for jobs while continuing at school and got interviews and at every interview they said @why aren't you going to University?...and they kept turning me down saying I should go to University and come back afterwards. So I did and I'm glad to say I started the first year failed two subjects got C's in the rest every year I went up a level finishing with an A average. I now have a MSc (hons) as well.
Youngest son has always been a hard worker these are the worst results he has ever had....comes from taking too many creative subjects....graphics, Art and Music with very high coursework load.
Kea, if he wants to do German A-level, could he do it somewhere else? So few schools are doing it now that he would be in a good position if he keeps it going. (I used to teach German and its demise in schools saddens me greatly)
Sorry Caroline...I've been off organising our Flower and Produce show and so busy I hadn't been on and seen your reply.
We looked everywhere for a way to continue and there isn't. I'm very cross with the school they have introduced lots of new easy option subjects to improve the league table scores and lured lots of students into them..I know some very bright girls who have shunned the academic subjects they were very good at including german and taken Media studies; etc
I think if they have league tables only the results in English; maths; sciences; modern languages; music; history/geography and Art should be included.
What a shame! I hope he finds A-level subjects he can enjoy- maybe he can pick the German up again if he goes to Uni.
