And be honest ;D
I had to buy potatoes today. Our site suffered badly from blight last year so I decided only to grow one bed of earlies this year. Unfortunately the last of the earlies were scoffed last week :-\
Everyone had a bumper crop and no blight this year, my own mistake.
Shame about your potatoes. My toms are just dying a death now to.
When i thought about the veg it made me smile to think i hadnt bought any for months :)
Its fruit thats my problem if only we had the climate for bananas and oranges then i could skip merrily past that section at asda!

Celery... ours isn't big enough yet... :-*
Does Frozen peas count!!!
Frozen sweetcorn and onions as the ones I have growing are not ready yet.
I bought a banana today! And I bought carrots last week. Apart from that we're doing well this year. I hadn't thought about it really - thanks for asking, it's cheered me up! :)
(sorry to hear about your potato misfortune :()
Today I bought an aubergine from Lidl as I want to make a ratatouille and my two plants haven't even produced a flower - let alone a fruit!

Two aubergines to make a Moussaka tomorrow--I bought mine from lidl too. Last year I got nowhere growing aubergines so I have given up on them. Mine produced lovely flowers and no fruit.

I keep buying aubergines as the 3 plants this year are like every year....RUBBISH
I've promised myself not to grow them again ! :(
Do mushrooms count?... If so then a couple of days ago, if not then a pile of canned sweetcorn back in June when I was sorting out supplies for the festival season....
If mushrooms count then I am guilty too. I love mushrooms and buy them frequently.

Ummm..arrr....oh...veg..umm...mushrooms, bananas...I can't remember what my 'proper' veg was... ;D
Yes..frozen sweetcorn!..and that was about april/may...
Carrots (I don't like them cooked so don't grow them), and big spuds for baking.
If I need mushrooms I will buy, and although I'm growing a few peppers, find they are very thin walled compared to the imported ones (but they must be reduced, or I refuse to buy ;)).

I've tried twice with shop bought kits but without success.
mushrooms ;D
I still regularly buy beansprouts, babycorn, cucumbers and tomatoes (out of season). As for fruit I buy alot of fruit - bananas, grapes, peaches, apples, pears, mangoes etc.
Mushrooms. Wish I could grow them. A garden I worked in today had loads of white mushrooms on her lawn. Wish I knew if they were edible...there were plenty.
Has anyone tried the mushroom logs - always wanted to give them a go but they seemed more expensive than buying the mushrooms on their own!
Tomatoes. Mine refuse to ripen though chillies in the same greenhouse are fine.
Peppers. I can't grow enough for our needs.
Sweet potatoes. Can't grow them here.
Butternut squash. Mine, along with the rest of the pumpkins aren't ripe yet.
Tried mushrooms in a box under the stairs about 20 years ago. Not successful so am not planning to try the logs. In any case we prefer chestnut mushrooms and morilles so I just buy them when I need them.
