Title: Broad beans?
Post by: caroline7758 on August 20, 2010, 09:02:26
I have grown these for the first time this year- just harvesting now as sown late. They are not something my family has ever eaten so I'd love some recommendations for ways to make them tasty, please!

My husband has fallen in love with lightly boiled broad beans added to a frying pan full of fried bits of bacon, stirred round a bit, and served.

I am especially fond of a creamy parsley sauce added to the beans. It takes on their lovely flavour and makes them go further. LOTS of fresh parsley necessary.

I love them in an omelette fried with a bit of bacon & spring onion.

if you don't like them on their own then try a kuku sibzamini - basically a potato and broad bean omelette and as suggested adding bacon is great - actually very nice pureed as a dip - hope you get to like them
