My husband worked with a bloke who brought one tea bag to work every day and would re-use it all day. Every one called him 'tight' but he had a nicer house and car than a lot of them.
I read on a pack of rather expensive 'green tea' bags that their bags can be re-used several times.
Most of us just brew up in a mug and throw away the tea bag without a second thought. Yet there are little dishes sold with the word 'tea bag' on them which must be for people who get more than one brew from their bags.
Belt tightening is something we are all having to do, I do get two or three cups from my green tea bags (all I drink because I don't like 'english breakfast tea) but always brew up using a fresh one each time for himself who enjoys the normal 'black tea' with a dash of milk.
An old man who used to live next door to us said he got 4 mugs from 1 tea bag.
no I don't but with Green Tea I use tea leaves and one of those placcy cups that find inside your proper cup so you can brew the tea in the cup without having to make a whole pot of tea (am I making any sense at all?! ). and as I only like it weak I get to re-use the leaves, maybe 2 or 3 times if I fancy another cuppa :)
I reuse mine, I have a nice cuppa but then put them on the blueberries becuase bitter tea yuk!

I usually drink a flavoured Green tea, occasionally Earl Grey tea. As I don't like my tea strong I find 1 bag makes a pot for 2-3 cups, which keeps me going for a bit ;D
Ni, I don't because I am certain they taste different after standing a bit and am always concerned about that, but John and I both get a mug of strong tea from the same one and if his sister is here she gets her weaker tea from the same one too.

So there is a difference between my green tea..
reusable
and his BLACK tea
Which goes bitter (stewed)
Thanks for the replies.
Does putting them in the compost count as re-using them? ;)

The other thing I do with left over green tea is make iced tea - add sparkling water, 1/2 a lemon or lime, maybe a touch of sugar. a lovely refreshing drink :)

I reuse mine both green and black as plant food for my orchids. They love this, as does my basil. I was told that begonias and geraniums love it too, but I haven't had any positive results with these too. Possibly they like stronger tea? DD :)
eeekkkkkkkkssssssssss :o I would never reuse a teabag. I like my tea good and strong.
I would rather switch off a few lights around the house to save some pennies.
Ha! My revered Father held the record for making one tea bag do 8 people. It was probably revolting but as he was such a lovely chap no-one would have said anything. ;D No doubt he then put it on the compost heap.

I give my tea bags to the worms.
Then they give me loads of worm tea in return, which also makes my veg grow larger. Couldn't ask for a better exchange.
Never tried it with milk or sugar though. lol
