I have about 1lb Blueberrys what can i do with them any idea Please
Pauline
Pauline you can do anything with them..pie, dessert topping even eat them fresh. My number 1 use is frozen. I freeze them as I usually have a lot, then when I make muffins for breakfast I toss about a cupfull in the mix at the last minute and bake them..you don't need to thaw.

Like you paulinemargaret I had a good crop of blueberries and searched online for a recipe. I made the Sainsburys Blueberry and Almond tart. Dead easy to make and very very nice, I ate it all.
Hopefully I'll have enough blueberries to make another one, mind have to eat the chocolate and courgette cake first, which no doubt wont take me long.
I made some rhubarb and blueberry jam which turned out well.
all sounds nice thankyou
do you have recipes for them please
Pauline
You will need
200g fresh shortcrust pastry
125g icing sugar, sifted
2 medium size eggs
75g ground almonds
1-2 drops vanilla essence
250g fresh blueberries
Method
Preheat the oven to 200°C, 400°F, gas mark 6.
Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface and use to line a 20.5 cm fluted flan tin. Prick the base. Cover with greaseproof paper and baking beans.
Bake blind in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until crisp and golden.
Remove from the oven and reduce the oven temperature to 180°C, 350°F, gas mark 4.
Beat together the sugar, eggs, almonds and essence.
Tip the blueberries into the pastry case and spoon over the almond mixture. Return to the oven and cook for approximately 35 minutes, until golden.
This is the Sainsbury's recipe.
I cheated and bought a sweet pastry case , so it really was easy to make ;D.
Sinbad
Thankyou Sinbad
i have printed it and will try it out ,think i will get a sweet pastry case as well as my pastry doesnt seem to come as well as it used to,have put them in freezer till i am ready to do it
grandaughter is sacked though!!! she said she was pulling all the stalks off them when i checked she cheated and left some on....
Pauline
I have a fair few of blueberry recipes, what type of things are you looking for, XX Jeannine
Sinbad that recipe you posted looks good and I suppose you could use any berries eg raspberries blackberries etc.
Nice One!! thanks!! ;D
Duke
I can't see why not Duke as the juice of the berries runs into the mixture. I just kept having a bit more to find the tart blueberries (not all of the blueberries were that sweet) as it is rather a sweet tart.
If you buy the pastry case it takes all of ten minutes to knock up and it does come out golden brown on top so looks quite good that's apart from how good it tastes. If I don't get enough blueberries think I will go and pick some blackberries and mix them together so thanks for the idea. I've already got the pastry case on stand-by waiting for the blueberries.
Pauline the 'hired help' aint what it used to be, you'll have to start training her better ;D Don't tell her I said that though :)
i have a load of black red and white currants i shall try it with that as well plus some gooseberrys
Pauline :) :)
You could also make cordial, dead simple boil up with water and sugar, add citric acid and pour into bottle.
I did some blueberry and rhubarb cordial yesterday , yum
