Title: What squash is this?
Post by: Chrispy on August 11, 2010, 14:41:34
Anybody put a name to this squash?
Another plot owner was given it, thinking it was some type of giant pumpkin, but is not so sure now.

Sorry, should have taken a pic of the top of the fruit, will do that next time up the plot.

Looks a tad like a potimarron type to me.

Ok  it has a round stem that cuts down the options , so it is not a pepo species which cuts out most if the pumpkins, all of the summer squash and courgettes, alsom out are acorns, all the coczelles, the crooknecks,Gems, the pepo gourds, all the Spaghtetties, the Marrows

It is not a butternut,or a cheese,a blue,a banana or turban and it not a potimarron.

Do you have a weight?

Right now it looks like a Fortna White or a Jaune Gros de Paris even  jusding by the colouring and shape and not a pepo
