Does anyone know where I can buy Roscoff pink onion seeds from in the UK, any websites or seed retails would be really helpful, or if anyone has surplus seed, could you please spare some for me to grow.
Thanks in advance
On Wikipedia it says that the Roscoff onion was given Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée in 2009. I think this means that you wouldn't be able to get it under that name, like if you want to grow Jersey Royals you have to use seed potatoes called International Kidney.
Perhaps someone can help you to find an alternative name ???
I wonder if you've been inspired by the references to "Onion Johnnies" on the recent edition of "Coast" ?
It might be worth while keeping an eye out for some Roscoff Onions in your local market (if you have such a luxury), planting the bulbs next year and letting them bolt for seed, at least then you'll be reasonably certain of getting "the real thing".

I have grown them before but unfortunately I have now run out of seed, and was hoping to save myself a trip to Roscoff to buy more seed.
Hi, try Rosanna onions by Thompson and Morgan. Look on their website for the seeds. I grew them last year and shall again this year. They rather ambiguously say a taste of yesteryear. They used to say that they were a taste of the past, like those from the onion sellers, now improved. I dont think that they refer to them as such now. They are as close as youll get. Delicious. Zeed
You can't buy it. I originally started mine by getting the onions from France and planting them for seed XX Jeannine
