Question for all you garlic experts out there - I planted soft necked garlic in February this year (incidently, it has straight HARD stems coming from the middle?) Some started to go to seed so I removed all the flower heads while small, but missed one and this now seems to be quite large and about to burst with miniature garlic cloves. Can they be split off and eaten, or are they useful in some other way, i.e. propogation? Thanks - Anisemary
Doesn't soudn like softneck, does sound like hardneck. THey're usedful for propagation as they should be free of white rot (or at least they can be kept free of white rot)..... sow them in pots, plant out in the autumn....

Thanks, will give it a try!
